Our expertise has made a valuable difference for our clients for the past 100+ years, and we are looking for a bSupplier Quality Engineer /b to join our Supply Chain team and help drive quality improvements for the future. /p h3Responsibilities /h3 ul liLead improvement of supplier performance related to quality, safety and on-time delivery for assigned suppliers and reduce the cost of quality (COQ) for Howden. /li liApprove and develop new suppliers to required performance levels and lead qualification of parts manufactured by suppliers. /li liDevelop and maintain relationships to improve partnerships between Howden and suppliers. /li liManage supplier audit process: audit critical suppliers annually, identify opportunities for improvement, guide on implementing effective processes, and lead corrective actions after audits. /li liCoordinate with Procurement and Category Management to enable growth and quality improvements at preferred suppliers. /li liMonitor and report on supplier quality and on-time delivery performance and initiatives to improve. /li liLead new supplier qualification and first article qualification cross-functional teams using PPAP and PFMEA methods. /li liInterface with Suppliers, Quality, Operations, Engineering and Procurement to drive quality improvements. /li liDrive root cause analysis and corrective actions for supplier issues. /li liUse data analytics to focus on critical supplier quality issues. /li liPerform other duties and tasks as directed. /li /ul h3Qualifications /h3 ul liStrong technical background in one of the following areas: casting, machining, metallurgy, welding/fabrication, or relevant manufacturing experience. /li liEffective problem solving and root-cause analytical skills to lead and influence others to drive change. /li liAbility to mentor and develop associates’ technical and business acumen. /li liAbility to act as a consultant to Suppliers, Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering to improve processes and quality. /li liAbility to understand and support commercial strategy. /li liGood team player with strong interpersonal skills. /li liAccurately captures, records, analyzes, and communicates information. /li liEnjoys difficult challenges and focuses on finding solutions. /li liGood communication skills at all levels, written and verbal. /li liAbility to multi-task and prioritize work. /li /ul h3What you’ll get in return /h3 pWe offer an interesting and challenging position within a professional, international organization where you play a key role in proposal development and project execution.
