Join the Autobidder Operations team as a Trading Analyst and play a key role in advancing automated trading and asset optimization in the electricity markets. Autobidder manages the world’s largest fleet of battery storage assets, from utility-scale batteries to virtual power plants, driving innovation in renewable energy.As a (Senior) Trading Analyst, you’ll leverage your expertise in energy markets and data analytics to refine Tesla’s trading strategies, working closely with algorithm engineers to drive revenue performance. You’ll monitor energy market trends, conduct competitor analysis, and develop performance-attribution methods that generate actionable insights for both customers and internal teams. Your solutions will enable proactive management of trading strategies and asset performance, directly shaping the success of our energy assets and accelerating the transition to sustainable energy systems.You’ll contribute to Tesla’s mission by optimizing battery revenues and advancing renewable power integration. With a passion for gathering insights from data, telling stories with analytics, a bias for action, and a collaborative mindset, you’ll thrive in our fast-paced team environment.What You’ll DoEnhance our existing Python-based analytical tools to thoroughly evaluate the battery fleet’s performance, generating actionable insights that guide future trading decisions.Analyze evolving market design and policy changes in key regions to assess their impact on storage monetization, engaging with relevant stakeholders to shape strategic decisions.Collaborate with optimization and software teams to provide fundamental analysis and market expertise that sharpen our competitive edge in algorithmic electricity market trading.Ensure optimal revenue generation by continuously monitoring and analyzing market performance within your area of responsibility.Conduct batch experiments using proprietary simulation tools, performing detailed forensic analysis of outcomes to pinpoint opportunities for algorithmic enhancements.Participate in on-call rotations to maintain operational continuity and support Autobidder’s market activities.Lead discussions with internal teams, customers, and external organizations to share fleet performance insights and operational updates.What You’ll BringBachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math or related field (or equivalent experience).Proficiency in Python, or similar programming languages such as Java, Scala, C#, or C++.Understanding of European electricity markets (e.g., UK, France), including market design, trading strategies, and product structures.Analytical skills for extracting insights, making decisions in uncertain scenarios, and communicating technical results to diverse audiences.Collaborative mindset with a creative approach to problem-solving and a drive for team success.Preferred, additional skills:Experience in electricity market trading or research, particularly in energy storage. #J-18808-Ljbffr
