As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be a key player in our New Product Development team, focusing on prototyping, testing, and commissioning new mobile robotics solutions. Responsibilities
Essential
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to develop system-level architecture and execute Mobile Robot builds.
- Develop electrical designs from high-level requirements, working independently and within teams.
- Execute proof of concepts (POCs) for streamlining new developments before manufacturing.
- Work closely with mechanical and manufacturing teams to build and test prototypes.
- Maintain attention to detail in testing, recording, and documentation for prototypes and product revisions.
- Participate in and prepare design reviews.
- Conduct evaluations of internal and external technologies to inform product decisions.
- Stay updated on industry trends, applying innovative thinking to development projects.
- Apply technical judgment, creativity, and initiative in all work processes.
- Travel up to 10% to ALTEN manufacturing facilities, other international offices, and customer sites.

Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering, covering design, assembly, troubleshooting, and testing of electrical and electromechanical systems (e.g., automotive, construction equipment, mobile robotics).
- Proficiency in using electronic test equipment (DMM, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, etc.).
- Experience with data communication protocols such as Ethernet, USB, RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, CAN, EtherCAT.
- Proficiency in CAD, simulation, and analysis tools like SPICE, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, MATLAB, and EPLAN.
- Experience with revision control, volume production practices, and data transfer to contract manufacturers.
- Expertise in DC electrical systems for mobile equipment, including lithium-ion batteries, motor controllers, power electronics, PLCs, SBCs, and digital/analog sensors.
- Knowledge of functional safety design and regulatory requirements (CE, ANSI, UL, EMC).
- Experience in cable harness design and routing.
Desired
- PCB design experience.
- Controls engineering experience (control loop implementation, tuning, and troubleshooting).
- Ability to implement and improve electrical engineering processes.
Working Conditions
This position is primarily office-based, with occasional exposure to airborne dust and a stable work surface. Work is performed indoors in a controlled environment, often in close proximity to others.
