You will be responsible for the practical coordination of field experiments and the hands-on implementation of projects, mainly in arable farming and open-field vegetable cultivation. This may involve new cropping systems, soil quality trials, or innovative forms of mechanisation. You will be the link between researchers, the experimental farm, and the farming community, ensuring that scientific insights are translated into practical applications. You will help collect data from field experiments and develop solutions to make agriculture more sustainable and enhance biodiversity—short term (proof of principle) and long term (new farm systems). /ph3Responsibilities /h3ulliPlanning and designing field trials. /liliPractical coordination of field trials in consultation with researchers and the experimental farm, ensuring an overview of all activities to be carried out. /liliMaintaining contact with commercial farms to coordinate activities and collect data for research projects. /liliOrganising and collecting data on crop development, biodiversity, and soil quality. /liliProcessing and interpreting research results. /liliContributing to the communication of results to clients, farmers, advisors, other stakeholders, and the trade press. /li /ulh3The Team /h3pYou will join the Soil and Farm Systems team at our Valthermond location. This team works on innovations in open-field cultivation and collaborates with government bodies, industry, and farmers to develop solutions for short- and long-term challenges. Through an integrated approach to soil management, fertilisation, crop health, and cultivation measures, we provide solutions to support the sector. /ph3Qualifications /h3ulliAt least a higher professional education (HBO) level of working and thinking. /liliKnowledge of arable farming and open-field vegetable production. /liliKnowledge of innovative production systems and soil management is an advantage. /liliKnowledge and experience in setting up field trials and/or data processing is a plus. /liliStrong coordination skills, able to work independently and switch easily between tasks. /liliA willingness to broaden your expertise and take training courses to develop new skills. /li /ulh3Language /h3pFor this position, proficiency in Dutch is essential. In addition, a good command of English (B2/C1 level) is desired.
