Your team
We are a team of 7 data scientists and a data science manager looking to add one more colleague. We build data products that directly impact consumers, advertisers, or employees, with a focus on human-in-the-loop solutions that empower creative people. Our work includes forecasting models, personalization, and supporting marketing with a marketing mix model. RTL Nederland offers diverse challenges where no day is the same, from selecting thumbnails for Videoland to guiding content choices on RTL 7 and resolving production issues for search on rtl.nl.
The Data Science team is part of the Data Unit, which includes data engineers and data analysts, and is within the Tech Department.
Tech stack
We primarily use Python (Pandas, PyTorch, Transformers), Azure, and PySpark. Our workflow uses Git for version control, Docker for packaging, Argo CD for deployment, Airflow for scheduling, and MLflow on Databricks for experiment tracking. For video processing, we leverage Argo Workflows on Kubernetes. Data sources include Snowflake and Azure Event Hub, with MongoDB for search indexing.

- You are fluent in English and Python, and you’re willing to deepen your skills with tools such as Docker, Databricks, MLflow, or other MLOps systems.
- You are eager to work on production models and have a strong interest in media or multimodal content (text, images, video) as well as open-source development practices.
- You bring a curious, proactive, and entrepreneurial mindset. You can work independently, but also enjoy collaborating and building productive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
